The Castle of Bonneval is located at Coussac-Bonneval, which is a little Village 42 Km from Limoges and 50 Km from Brive, in Haute-Vienne Department. Coussac-Bonneval may be found in the Michelin map N(75). There are many ways to reach the Village of Coussac-Bonneval. The shortest one is the N(20) National Road that goes towards Toulouse and Spain. A few kilometers after leaving Limoges, the D 704 Road must be taken in the direction of Saint Yrieix la Perche. In "La Traverse," the D 17 to the left will lead to La Roche l'Abeille. At this location can be seen the hills where, at the age of 15, Henry IV fought his first battle in company of Gabriel de Bonneval. Finally 12 Km farther on is the Gaul-Roman Village of Coussac-Bonneval. It is on the border between the Haute-Vienne, the Corèze and Dordogne Departments. No matter from which direction one comes, the Castle of Bonneval can be seen surrounded by tall trees arising in the middle of its park.
